Etro truly spells spring. The first collection that has done it in such a refined way. It must be the innerwear-like aesthetic mixed with florals...

Lagerfeld took Fendi to a romantic place suited only for big girls. The hair tossed up haphazardly mixed with silk, leathery or sheer pieces spells "the morning after the tryst."

A fairytale or real life, stylist Kate Young and photog Ellen Von Unwerth show us that bad things can happen to whimsically-styled, candy colored, glowing people. And you thought you were safe...

In the editorial shot only the face (focusing on the eyes) are lit... reminding me to be mysterious and discreet

The style shot inspires me because I love to see people who reflect my own style or have taken it to another level.

I appreciate fresh and deconstructed take on the cut-out trend in the bottom shot.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbano, collectively known as Dolce & Gabbana, of course, give women the right to wear bra straps with...strapless bustiers and such.

This is one idea that I don't want to see hitting the street.

The Wellington based label, TwentySeven Names, owns a certain fashion confidence and everday chic aesthetic that I'll be striving for this fall.

Designers, Rachel Easting and Anjali Stewart created the line in the summer of 2006 and there's no wonder why TwentySeven Names has earned a cult following worldwide despite it's retail representation being limited to the UK, Hong Kong and Austrailia.

There's a special attention to a layered look and street elements that they fuse into their runway show that easily translates it into what we want to wear today. Visit their site for what's to come for Spring.

Pretty florals mixed with hard striped and studs conveys a bit of style schizophrenia, the only time that it's ok to be mental.

DEETS: Childhood Gap jean jacket, Forever 21 tee, American Apparel high waisted jeans, Steve Madden shoes

These are the last of these Steve Madden shoes. They've been with me every summer since 2006, when I wore them for one of the first times in the rain, by accident.

The soles are leather and don't do well in wet weather...since then they've been wearing down and I think it's now time to retire them before my feet meet the concrete. They've done me well...now onto the next for next summer...

Donatella conjures a little of her late brother's flavor with this Spring/Summer 2010 Versace collection of thigh-high mini dresses baring splits to boot! The look above is my favorite. Click here for the full collection.

You can call her a woman of many a fez. Maria "Decida" Wahlberg, the B-boy stance posing, patterned pant wearing freestyle dancer now spends her days as a stylist and the editor of the webzine 2FACED1. Her style, a mash up of '80s Dynasty glamour and '90s Cross Colours streetwear, has been accurately coined by a photog friend as "Ghetto Baroque." Read on to find out more about this style influential...

Your style seems to involve glamour and colorful '90s streetwear. How did you develop that?

Coming from Sweden, trying to look different than the average Swede (spelled H & M...), made us creative, during the whole ‘90s we mixed up the latest brands we got from London and NYC trips with vintage, cause we had no choice. Plus, I've always been into streetwear because of being a hardcore music head, since the early '90s. Striped Stüssy Tees, bright Cross Colours and of course preppy/high tech Ralp Lauren/Polo Sport/Lo-Life. But as much as I love that, I love great fashion and mixing high and low, picking the best from both worlds.  Exactly like we do in my new project, the webzine, www.2faced1.com

What/who is your fashion inspiration?
The freshest kid in your hood.

I think I was a dancer in a past life and I definitely admire your old house style dancing. I think I see a little bit of voguing nuances in your dance style, right?

My original style is early ‘90s hip hop, groovy and flowing--100% freestyle with no cheesy crowd-pleasers. If you're familiar with the Mop Top crew and dancers like Link and Mark Quest you know the style. I don't have too much time for the dancing now…If I had I would most def study the Voguing (Old Way) basics.

Who are your favorite designers?
Designers: Wow f*in much to mention...different designers, different eras but some that I have to mention are always JP Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood, Ralph Laurent (but never without the Lo-lifes) and Nike, also the ‘80s Japanese Fashion Scene and UK dito. Some new brands are Blaak, Umit Benan, Hood By Air, some Alexander Wang, Dr Romanelli; Phenomenon, Prahsant Verma, Peg Leg, Temperley London, Basso & Brooke, Supreme. I have to mention Yamamoto's AW 09, Givenchy's SS 10 and of course Margiela!

DEETS: Vintage belt, Steven shoes, Odd & Even. NYC cuff

Today I wore two really old pieces, both happen to be from The Gap: the skirt is from early college days and the jean jacket is from middle school or high school.

Here you can see how it looks as is and with a personal touch.

Lesson: Always add your own twist to what you wear!

Tommy Ton took the shot below for style.com last week for fashion week...but I've defintely been wearing the look for a solid week before that.

Are metal headbands the next hair trend? Charlotte Ronson has already planned for similar headbands in her spring show. See it here.

Email me samantha.smikle@gmail.com for your own chain headband ($12)! But it directly at Odd & Even, NYC. Click HERE.

About a month ago, an anonymous reader commented on a WHAT I WORE post about wanting to dress more creatively but felt restricted by the standards of what's considered work appropriate.

Well miss style-craved workaholic, here's what I've come up with to help you and anyone else who wants to know how to make work wear fun and stylish!

DEETS: Chloe Double-breasted blazer, Herve Leger Stretch pencil skirt, Maje Kimiko silk shirt, Kain Silk-blend tank, Preen Cropped slouchy pants, Chloe Leather chainlink belt, Aldo shoes
Photo Cred: Studded Hearts, Style Sightings, Chloe aw '09

MY MAIN TIPS:
Blouses and pants in silk or polyester, or some blend other than just cotton looks polished right away. Look out for these fabrics to upgrade your look.

Take advantage of the Dynasty/Working Girl focus in fashion! Wear a blazer! It makes a decent tank and a slouchy trouser or body con skirt look profesh' and modern!

*Another blazer tip: Belt a blousy blazer with a belt for a new spin on the look.

Keep accessories minimal. One statement piece at a time. A Pyramid cuff is a nice touch of eccentricity to wake up a look.

Add an interesting shoe to the mix to keep things fun. Keep the color muted and play up the style and skin.

Jill Stuart's been in this rock & roll phase since this a/w '09 collection but it's from a slightly different angle then Balmain and Wang approach it.It's not too edgy, still very feminine with a hint of conservative...you know what I mean?

Yes Issac! I love the Hollywood/Fred Astaire/on-the-set sensibility that Mizrahi infused into the runway show and the designs. The theatrics give a new life to the designs that I greatly appreciate.

But on the other hand, A sequin jumper may look amazing and right on trend now. But how crazy I'll be about this look when it finally hits stores...I don't think too crazy...

Tricky, tricky! At first glance, this looks like the Stella McCartney type thigh high leather boots. But they're actually pants. I love a fashion illusion!

Deets: Alexander Wang Blazer and cami, Max Studio skirt, vintage belt via my dad, Aldo Wedges.

Are you reading my twiiter updates???

That's whre you'll get my down to the minute thoughts on shows and stylish peeps. Yesterday, I went to General Idea, that told me that men will be in suit jumpsuits and shoulder interest for next spring.

I also saw Telfar, as model scurried out in carboard shoes and construction site plastic bra tops!

The Made Me cam knows how much I heart them, so I was pleased to find lookbook shots of the fall '09 collection in my inbox.

These shots most inspire me and reflect Erin's "Tough Love" theme for an androgynous aesthetic. Worn in vintage blues, studded denim vests, rose-printed leather. I want it all!

So last night, me and a couple of friends were talking about Amber Rose's 'fit at the Persona Mag event on Friday. They although what they described looked worse than it really was, the actual effect wasn't too far from tragic.

But I still hold a special place in my heart for her bravado and mystery when it comes to style. I'm just hoping there was a reason for the silver PVC and the Halloween contacts.

Here's Amber in chic-er moments...
