With a penchant for maxi dresses and easy breezy Italiano style, that means fuss-less hair, little to no makeup and loads of fun bracelets, Aurora Sansone's style is effortless and refreshing.
Even in the Aquilano-E-Rimondi dress worn right below to the Milan Men's fashion shows this summer, the Vogue Nippon fashion editor made headlines all over fashion blogs. Confidence and authority just oozes from her sartorial choices. Aurora is def a new style inspiration.

It's the New York Times! It's "All the news that's fit to print!" As a journalism major in school, I was taught that the New York Times is the newspaper authority. So when you're featured among the pages, print or digital, it's...ummm...kind of a big deal.
Shouts to Josh and Trav of Street Etiquette who earned a feature on NYT Fashion for their development of a niche of fashion that orginated eras ago--Dandy style. They're hailed in the article for their partnerships with companies like Nike and Sebago, congratualated for their planned college tour and admired for their step out of the normal static street style poses and introduction of active, in motion editorial personal style shots.
Any one who's read Street Etiquette knows what a leap it is for men's fashion. Even Mos Def, now mentor of the duo recognizes their influence saying, "They want to elevate the awareness level of young people in their communities. As opposed to ‘We’re better than y’all,’ it’s ‘You can be this, too.’ All of it is a political expression,” he said. “White people have all kinds of archetypes, from Brad Pitt to Al Bundy, everything in between. The cultural paradigms that are aggressively promoted to young black people and young poor people are extremely narrow.”

Inspiration was musical mercenary SK, so hip hop, native America, NY and original urban style.

This past week, photographer and fashion critic, Bill Cunningham documented men's professional wear.
Cunningham sympathizes with dressing woes of men when it comes to business attire, observing that men tend to slap on a suit and tie with little diversion toward the non-traditional. Reflecting on the days when men got "out of control" on dress down fridays, Cunningham notes that the pocket handkerchief paired with a tie-less suit may be a new trend for casual business wear.
Check this link out for a narrated sequence of shots that suppliments Cunningham's insight.

Let's jump a bit ahead to Spring 2010. Be ahead this summer with inspiration from the collections for this time next year.

It's the "Year of the Gentleman." Or so Ne-yo professes in his new album. But whether he's referring to romance or fashion, this speaks true on the runways.
.
Because men's wear is so limited in the pieces you have to choose from, an easy way to shake up your look is to experiment with textures. A corduroy pant or tweed jacket can bring unexpected surprises to the other items in your wardrobe.
Never caught onto the skinny craze? Here's your chance to make a fashion revival with the wider cut silhouettes in jackets and pants.
There's no being a gentleman without an overcoat, now is there? Whether it's purposeful for bundling up or stylishly thrown over your shoulders, it'll be the investment piece for the coming months to complete every look.

Hope you've noticed, we have a new contributor to O.M.O. Writes. Deeray of PeewhY eeNKay blog will be contributing his view on men's fashion. See his post below or click here.
I will also be contributing on his blog. See my first post where I discuss leather shorts, velvet, menswear, and not jeans as fall trends click here or just click the shot above!
Enjoy.
Walking up to Platform, you may mistake it for another 'hood store...I did. But it's anything but ordinary. Jalloh has curated an exclusive selection of men's wear. You can find lines like Crooks & Castles and 10 Deep, brands that you usually have to venture way down to SoHo to find.
Platform NYC brings that downtown flavor uptown. Knowing that this is a big step for the Bronx, they brag on stickers that say "Fuck SoHo."
I don't know about that, but I can't wait for this spot to bring in women's wear...Til then, fellas this is all yours!

DEETS: H&M dress as a shirt, vintage belt and men's pants, payless shoes
Don't be afraid to express your personality at work! How do you show who you are in business wear? Leave some tips in the comments section! xs

Deets: vintage tee via having it since I was like 10, vintage blazer, H&M jeans, Uniqlo heattech Men's socks, new Steve Madden boots
High-waisted jeans, a distressed tee and a blazer. It's foolproof and makes me feel comfortable, put together and still stylish. I recently got a new job and while acid wash jeans may not be typical office wear even for the most fashion forward offices, the blazer makes it alright...in my eyes at least.
And for a look [employ whisper voice here] behind the scenes...

My closet. A recent work in progress...
Jazz influences are creeping it's way into the fashion world. Slouchy pants, men's blazers, cropped styles, flighty dresses in the day, vests and bow ties--all very "Lady Sings the Blues." Check out some finger-snapping looks here...

A great collection is sure to come during the Fall 2010 season. Moncler will team up with Visvim to collaborate on a collection called "Moncler V". Moncler, the ski wear which was established in the 1950's, has made a statement in the fashion scene the last couple years with their vibrant puffy coats. Visvim, a Japanese-based brand has high-end quality with a streetwear influence.
Studying both brands reveals a well-crafted, classic pieces. The collection which ranges from apparel, accessories, and footwear, should be an instant hit. I expect nothing but greatness from Moncler V.

So the other day I was scratching my itch for fashion publications and I picked up my favourite men's mag V Man. I was thumbing through the glossy only to be enamored by the stylings of the Texas native/Brooklyn transplant Lester Garcia. The editorial showcases this seasons sweetest outerwear for men, so guys get into my favourite shots, dissect and create something special this winter. OH! Don't forget to pick up V Man Winter 2010-2011, it's so worth it!
