Kanye West has been all over the blogs in the past week for his fashion risks, which PETA wants his head for. Many of us on the other hand want his closet and even more, a piece of his exclusive design projects. Cue the "Robotface" Goyard bag. This "Robot Face" bag is a 1 of 1. That's right, none before and none to come.
First MCM, then Moschino and now Goyard. I feel a trend coming on...logos, logos, logos!![]()

I want to lose myself, cry on the piano as a musician plays it, scream at the top of my lungs and roll down a sand hill.
Watch this video to see how actress, designer muse and daughter of Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg, Lou Doillon does it. And just so you know, she does it all for Vanessa Bruno, who's Spring 2010 pieces she's rolling, dancing and letting go in.
Deets:
Directed by Stéphanie Di Gusto Pianist: Gonzales
Shimmy shimmy, snap up right & head snap left. I have that part down. And the opening 8-count or so.
If you know all the choreo to every Beyonce video...at least in your head...you'll love this video. These dancers werked out in that garage with all their little nuances like the shoulder acrobatics and the pink tulle headband puff! And Ms. Girl in the orange leggings doing the low-key solo in the beginning. Admit it, those deserve a shout out: Werk Phish!!! [I sound like Stephanye, hahha]
Mute "Laaazy but-terflyyy...napping on me..." and watch this real quick. Oh and Happy Friday!

Tap into that ferocity inside of you with a voluptuous fur or a spicy animal print!

I first came across this ad in my girl's Harper's Bazaar...upon which I tore it out. Thanks girlie! I think it's the mondrian-esque backdrop that sucked me in. The sum of all it's parts is what makes this ad amazing for me...amazing enough to want to frame--dont judge me. ;)

EVERYDAY CAN BE NEW.
Model: Devon Aoki in Self Service Magazine, Fall 2009

Is it that the guy above wears those quirky round lens shades with absolute seriousness? or the way the Timberland brogue, fair isle socks and plaid print on the underside of the cuff go so perfectly together that it seems that the pant, shoe and sock were sold in a bundle.
Whatever it is, keep on doing it.

So it's been established already. I love Sophomore...have not a single piece but I love all the lookbooks' creative direction and of course the pieces in their stylish simplicity. But now to expand my obsession, there's a video! Enjoy.

Contrasting textures and fabrics between the design of the arm and torso portion of pieces have been ruling Paris and Milan shows. It's a bold move, allowing the top/jacket to be the statement point of the look. Keep the rest of the styling simple. A white tee is enough at Burberry Prorsum or go for all black sophistication as in Costume National.

Louis Vuitton (left) and Dries Van Noten (right) gives a little A. Wang Spring 2010 vibe with sweatpant looks.
Guys, wear this look with precision. The sweats need to be shard and fitted. Ladies, embrace your inner tomgirl...dig way deep if you have to and then juxstapose the look with a sick bootie or platform wedge. And voila, you're a "Half Jock."

A reverse sherling? Armored Balmain-esque shoulders? Burberry Prorsum went a bit left and i'm a bit confused but I like that.

Burberry Prorsum and Tim Hamilton gives us knits for men that are big and cozy enough for the stylish lad and his lady. Both shows a special treatment of texture, providing actual shape rather than bulk.

Kelis spotted at Fred Segal during the Sundance Film Festival piles in pieces and accesories, all in fur! Kelis never censors her style and I think that's why I love her.

In short, fashion blogs are here to stay and rule the world. Fashion has become super immediate from live runway show coverage to twitpic-ing a shot of your outfit in a fitting room. Suzy Menkes, Fashion Editor of the Internaltion Herald Tribune is not threatened by it and I'm glad.
...Until you try. Now go out and rule the world! Happy Friday!

Vogue Paris packs there bags and takes it to Morocco...Such a coincidence because I've been very inspired by the whole Moroccan, Egyptian, Ancient East Asia aesthetic. Dree, I feel only stands out because she's in the foreground of all the shots! Freja and Lara pulled the looks off effortlessly.

Deets:
Models:Dree Hemingway, Lara Stone and Freja Beha Erichsen
Styling: Carine Roitfeld
Photography: Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin

When I was a kid, I used to wish I had freckles, like this girl. And I would draw fake ones on with my mom's eyeliner.

The backstage shots look like clips from a silent film. Get into the man-liner. Right? Eyeliner for men? View the whole collection at GQ.com.

Deets: high school volleyball uniform tee, H&M jeans, Forever 21 (faux YSL tribute pump) platforms
In high school, I played on the volleyball team...mainly to beef up my resume for college applications but it turned out to be a super significant point in my high school days.
I found this shirt in the clear trash bag of stuff to donate to the salvation army and I suddenly wanted it back! I cropped it that night...longer in the back [which I wanted to show but was told that I look like I'm showing off my butt--which has gotten significantly larger since the holidays...but I'm working on that..let's not talk about it haha--instead of the shirt. So I ixnayed that shot]
Point is: I've resurrected and customized my own vintage athletic tee and can't wait to wear it in the spring!
Another pillar of the Black community and power player in the fashion industry has passed away.

They belt it in Milan. And somehow it still looks masculine.

I went to Capsule yesterday and it was a good time as usual. Drinks, friends and previews of the next season for amazing lines like Soulland, Our Legacy and Yuketen. I wore...
Deets: H&M cardi and tank, Zara dropcrotch, Steve Madden Oxfords (I changed out of the loafers before I left)

Deets: This look is a bit H&M heavy...scarf, jeans, gray sweater, all from H&M. Vintage Navajo print jacket, Gap top/dress tied in a knot, Steve Madden loafers

Photographed by Thomas Falmer, with styling by Richard Pierce, Danny Arter and Marcel (Premier), the shoot looked into pieces which used three key elements: Denim and Tweed. My favorite in this collection is the blazer in the photo above. A Tweed blazer with a leather patch on the shoulder: brilliant.

I agree that you shouldn't wear a complete runway look...or a look all of one designer. But high heels with shorts is not a must for me. Only certain personalities can pull it off, otherwise you risk looking like a woman-of-the-night! Watch Julia Restoin-Roitfeld talk about her fave pieces and styling tips.

a shot of the stage at Fela on Broadway. I risked it for you!
Deets: French Connection top, vintage scarf as belt via my mom, H&M pants, Uniqlo socks, Steve Madden wedges.
SIDEBAR: Are you wondering why my look is a bit familiar? If not, you should be! j/k, but really. Marc did it for his Spring/Summer 2009 collection for Marc Jacobs. Check it out below.

Turned Out is a style blog that features awesome women just like you. Maya's blog not only captures the amazingly unique style of these fashionistas, she interviews them or just accompanies the shots with a write up of what she's learned.
Her new thing are the collages that she makes Out of actual editorials and scans. They should all be combined into some sort of exhibit, I think.
Check out Turned Out.

Monster Rolls. California Rolls. Avocado Rolls. I love sushi but turns out I've been making grave mistakes! Dipping in the rice, rubbing my chopsticks together, piling the ginger on top...I even ask for extra ginger!
Follow this guide to eat sushi with class. Style is just about fashion.

If you ever had any questions about how to get dressed...how to mix and match the pieces in your closet like a a stylist on an Elle photo shoot, watch this video. For who the girl is read on here. Briefly though, she's a journalist and an award-winning poet, also seen on MTVs once upon a time reality show, "I'm from Rolling Stone."
She does a few of the styling tricks that I've employed for fresh looks with old stuff like wearing a dress tucked into pants as a blouse. She also takes cutoffs from somewhat classy with a vintage blazer to straight hippie with a brown cropped top. Watch and take notes. I did.

I love Lanvin (lahn-van) and I love Alber Elbaz's crazy quotes even more: "Sometimes I feel like Carrie from Sex and the City," he said of his pre-fall design process. "I sit in front of my computer and ask myself, 'Does the daytime have to be boring and gray?'" nymag
