As I become more deeply entralled in fashion and all that surrounds it, I've become more interested in the photography of it and the photographers behind those shots that captivate me in bringing a model, a story and articles of clothing to life.
Kwesi Abbensetts does that with his own distinctive flavor. Reading a little bit about him, I've learned that he is: Guyanese, BK bred, an early scholar and an accidental photographer.
I also know that he's shot my girl Sarah and knows my girl Eni...I'm bound to meet him soon, I'm sure. Can't wait!

A match made in heaven? Comme de Garcons teams up with Chucky Chuck Taylor for a shoe that classic [euphemisim for plain in this case, save for the Garcons caricature logo thingy].
Out in NY, London, Paris, Hong Kong and Seoul, the collaborative shoes will retail for 100 coins. How quick will they fly off the shelves? Not sure, but a new shipment is already scheduled for October...

So last night, I set out to the city to go to Tenjune. Really pretentious, model-laden, bottle popping kinda place. My girl Michelle, goes there "all the time" with her girl Ainjel, so no worries, right?
Wrong!
I get there to find out that Ainjel only has a plus 1 on her promoter's list. And as many times as they've been there, they send me over to talk to the owner to plea for entry. Not my style. So I dip...

Earlier that day, I got my hair colored by Mia of Younghsee Salon. I met her at the one of the Sobe Summer Friday parties. She suggested I go with more lighter browns, but I was nervous about that. I got a full head of highlights but my hair is still on the darker side. Next time, full faith in Mia!

UK transplant TopShop sent shockwaves of anticipation when it opened its doors in SoHo a few months back. I thought the store was overhyped, but the Fall 2009 collection got me right together! There are four themes being used this season, my favorite being Horror Girl.

Destroyed denim, Balmain-esque constructed skirts, and shredded sweaters encompass the Horror Girl look. It is the perfect marriage between Victorian femininity and sadistic goth. I love the collection for its attention to detail as well as the effortless way the seemingly emo clothing exudes power and oozes sexy. Reminds me of Alexander McQueen in his early days. The pieces have already started rolling out online and in the store. Take a look at some of my faves for fall.
