I met Lyle on day 2 of The Fader's summer issue photo shoot. You may have already seen him in Topshop ads around the city. He's so free sprited, only he could pull off angel wings. Here he models for photographer, Tyler Riggs. See the rest here.![]()

Neutrals conjure thoughts of safari adventures for me. Here, we see that the color evokes a laid back chic.
Buzz is buzzing about Kanye's new video for "Paranoid." Steph tipped me off...my two favorite people, how could I resist!

I hit the H&M Fashion Against AIDS collection launch with The Fader fashion team. Everyone was out, i.e. Andre J, Estelle and Ms. Fashion above. Whenever I see her, she's giving a different theme. Love her for that!
Man about town, Jey Van-Sharp of UberLife (middle). He has this vibrant and positive energy about him, not to mention amazing style. So it was an honor for him to want to buy a Xena cuff right off my arm at the H&M event. He wears it so well, huh? Thanks for showing it off for the camera!
And Mark. Drop crotch? In the Bronx? I thought I was the only one! Had to capture the moment...yes, in front of the corner store. Why not?

Saturday night was so eventful that I had to do a final post to get it out of my system. Some have been asking to see the tattoo that I got--here it is, as well as a cool shot Stephanye took of:
OMG Michelle performing (top left)
Me and her bestie and now my friend, Corey (far right)
Me cheesing after the tat/right before the 'Sup party (middle)
Me, Steph, dopest DJ ever, Kingdom (bottom left)
*Answers to FAQ about my tat:
It's based on a neon sculpture by artist Tracy Emin and typography seen in the "Tangled Alphabet" exhibit at the MOMA
Yes, it's supposed to look scratched on
No, it's not about me loving someone
No, it's not sweet, it's ironic. I don't believe you can promise love. And to believe in promises is to welcome disappointment.
Can't wait 'til it heals! xo, S.
The '80s are still lurking with our unwavering commitment to the legging, so biker shorts were the natural progression.
Alexander Wang put them on the runway for Fall '09 and I've seen a few pairs tipping around downtown NYC lately. From basic black to electric color bursts, biker shorts are no longer just for the Tour de France crowd.

OMG Michelle and House of Ladosha turned it out on Saturday night for 'Sup Magazine's Issue #19 party. OMG Michelle did a rendition of stanky leg that needs to be on my i-pod, like yesterday. And La-dosha, La-dooosha gave me one liners to tweet all night. As a matta fact, here are my favs:
1. Picture me on the West Side Highway, cigarette in hand, pulling your man. "Picture This"
2. Ballerina fetish heels. It's like I'm walking on sex appeal.
3. Ya bitches can't see me cuz I'm hiding in the shaaade.
4. Wait for it, wait for it... "Summer Baby"
Here's Corey, keeping it cool, calm and collected to pose for the camera--in one of the best pair of distressed jeans I have ever seen.

Here's Asia, a regular at the C'est Noir Party on Wednesdays at Happy Ending. She's so consistent--every week she's with another admirable 'fit. Here, she gives us a statement pant.
Me, at the 'Sup Magazine party, in my favorite statement pant. Even if you hate them, you love them. [Please excuse my suicide victim looking arm. Just got another tat]
DEETS: FRENCH CONNECTION DRESS (WORN AS A TOP), H&M JEANS, MOM'S SCARF

I'm definitely going...You down? Click here or on the "FEATURES" link under the banner to read my past 'Sup Magazine stories.

Taken at the Yoko D x Urban Outfitters event at the Tribeca Grand
WHAT I LIKE:
Neutral printed shirt paired with bold color cardigan
Painted and splattered shoes
And a hat for good measure

Mojitos, sweat and loud music in the street. The electric color and model's expression in these shots scream heat and good times. Photographer, Jason Nocito, captured summer in a shot.
I was assisting on The Fader's June/July fashion story which he shot and as we reviewed images right on his camera, I saw how he makes the simplest circumstance look extraordinary. How does he do it? He calls it "magic dust."
Jason, can you bottle that and sell it? Enjoy more of his work here.

Deets: Mom's tank & scarf, American Apparel jeans, H&M cropped blazer, Steve Madden sandals
Two redbull/vodkas, new American Apparel high-waisted jeans, Crystal Castles, and Julia Restoin Roitfeld.
1.The best thing about the Redbull space might just be the free Redbulls (you're right, Amanda!).
2. I've been eyeing these jeans forevs and finally decided to drop the 78 bucks on 'em. Who pays that much for jeans anymore? They fit amazing though!
3. A band called Crystal Castles played at the event and I fell in love. Gotta download 'em!
4. I saw Julia Restoin-Roitfeld! We def heart her over at VIII XXIX. See the shot I snapped of her there.

This look is perfection for right now.
I'm into the cropped bustier/high waisted combo that YSL showed us for S/S '09. The boyfriend blazer is so Stella Spring Collection and the round-framed shades are emerging heavy [also seen on Dries Van Noten's S/S '09 runway]. Altogether this look is effortlessly right on trend.
Here's a refresher on the trends for S/S '09:
WOMEN'S WEAR
High Shine
Ethnic Prints
Boyfriend Blazer
Statement Pants
ACCESSORIES & BEAUTY
Piles of Bangles
Hair On Top
Red Lips
MEN'S WEAR
High Shine
Short Shorts
Color Blocks
SHOES
Spring Go-To Shoe
Espadrilles
Modernistic Shoe
In my last post, I used the title, "He Don't Love Me No More." If you can tell me what film that's from, I'll send you a pair of these Pono beaded bangles.
Pono is a high end jewelry line that chooses "style before trends and boldness over blandness..." and, apparently, giving back before profits. 20 percent of the profits of these Masaai beaded bracelets goes to young African women in need. The cause called Give a Girl A Chance "aims to remedy the current imbalance of opportunity of women limited by financial resources and cultural restrictions."
Here are three hints to the film, who's supporting actress said, "He don't love me no more..."
1. 2001 film
2. Takes place in LA
3. Supporting actress can also be seen in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

The Recessionistas Sale was fun as always. John of Children of Da Curb bought these shades. They were meant for each other!
They'll be up on the Odd & Even, NYC site soon along with wing earrings and 2-finger rings! In the meantime, send your order to me through email.
Looking at my Rolley its about that time!

She seems to have more jewelry than clothes.
Fashion designers are putting Australia on the map and Natalie Wood is no different. The Selby goes inside her home to show us a personal, quirky side of her. Check out her line, Something Else, here.
She has a pink electric banjo? What is this?
Blush is just as important as brushing her teeth. Check out the toothbrush holder!
Flip flops are the easy, breezy women's sandal amongst all sandals.
The solution to cool footsies on hot summer days, flip flops hold major fashion factor in elaborate styles decked out in chains, rhinestones and rivets. But for simple, cheap flip flops that are more than a fashion fad, Havaianas prove to be a closet staple.
In tons of colors and designs, these women's flip flops are a shoe in for any summer 'fit. My favs are the Slim Zebra and the Wonder Woman. Check out the site and come back to tell me your choice.

DEETS: H&M DRESS, VINTAGE BELT, STEVEN SANDALS
I wore this to my friends house party. A bit over-dressed, but when you've been in sweats all day, the feeling to dress up is irresistible.

We can always look to Ms. Moss for some inspiration.
