So...don't judge me...but I was just in H&M yesterday when I bought these high waisted black silk-like shorts...very Chloe! Sidebar: this girl, obviously frustrated that she couldn't find anything in the Queen of mass-produced fashions, said, "I don't think anyone who's really into fashion shops at H&M!"

Wrong! We all do. And the true fashion girl finds things you don't expect to be H&M. Look past the "Divided" tees and jeggings, girl!

But I digress, (from the matter at hand which is what I tried on!). You missed the shorts but I did go in again today...to just try on things I knew I wasn't going to get. Clearly, I had nothing better to do. Like I said...don't judge me hahha. Here's what I put together...

Ladies start warming up, for this will be a war to get your hands on. It has been confirmed that the amazing luxe designers of Lanvin, Alber Elbaz and Lucas Ossendrijver will be collaborating with H&M. Details were confirmed this morning!

The collection rolls out on November 23 in 200 stores and will carry both womens and menswear. The Lanvin for H&M line will preview with a special film on November 2 on the brand's website and like all major collaborations I am sure that women all over the world will be losing their minds over this one.

The collection is to include 30 women's garments, 15 accessories and 25 menswear pieces & about 10 men's accessories according to Vogue tweets. We will keep you posted!

I doubt that little fashionistas will be knocking voer mannequins to get to H&M's collaboration with Marimekko in April. But if you don't, you may miss something just as sensational as the high profile collaborations that H&M has forged with designers such as Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf and Roberto Cavalli.

.........................
Marimekko, a Finnish textile designer joins forces with my favorite afforadable one stop shop to provide prints that tap into the ethnic trend that is sure to break through your closets come Spring.
.........................
Marimekko prints were it in Finland in the '70s. Sure, Finland wouldn't be the first place I'd look to for a fashion cue but their prints are definitely something to call home about. See some of their vintage work from the '60s below... So abstract artsy.

I hit the H&M Fashion Against AIDS collection launch with The Fader fashion team. Everyone was out, i.e. Andre J, Estelle and Ms. Fashion above. Whenever I see her, she's giving a different theme. Love her for that!

Man about town, Jey Van-Sharp of UberLife (middle). He has this vibrant and positive energy about him, not to mention amazing style. So it was an honor for him to want to buy a Xena cuff right off my arm at the H&M event. He wears it so well, huh? Thanks for showing it off for the camera!

And Mark. Drop crotch? In the Bronx? I thought I was the only one! Had to capture the moment...yes, in front of the corner store. Why not?

It's a bit early for a Spring preview , but I couldn't resist sharing with you what H&M has up their sleeve for the next season. Ditzy prints, metallic fabrics and ah-mazing shoes, not to mention the outrageously daring leather jumpsuit!

H&M pushed their talent to the limit for our wearing pleasure and I can't wait!

Me, yesterday.

Deets: H&M dress, H&M bubble pencil skirt, vintage belt, Shoes from Jasmine Sola, Boston

....

Me, today.

French Connection graphic print tank, H&M victorian button back blouse, American Apparel stretch pencil skirt, Vintage earrings, Ultra sheer stockings, Steve Madden multi colored mini wedges.

Innovation maximizes your wardrobe.

Think that green piece is a top? It's a dress that I've tucked into my stockings and layered with a skirt. For this outfit, I wished the dress was a blouse, so I made it happen without losing it as a dress for the future!

In that second group of pics, I wear the Victorian button-back blouse open and backwards! What was a blouse one day can be a jacket the next!

With a collaboration with one of shoe royalites, Jimmy Choo and a campaign shot by our favorite photog Terry Richardson, this may be one of H&M's biggest venture to date. It's due to hit stores, November 14.

Here are some guidelines for orderly shopping as read on Nitrolicious:

The first 160 people in line will receive a bracelet; on the bracelet you will be given a specific time for shopping in our designated area. The bracelets are only needed for the women’s shoes, bags and accessories. Customers shopping the men’s collection or the women’s garments will not require a bracelet. When your time has come, we will let you into the designated shopping area to shop.

If you are not one of the 160 first in line, you will of course have the opportunity to shop from the rest of the collection or within H&M. After about 2 hours we will also open up the designated area for all customers.

For the collection, each customer can buy the whole collection but one per product or piece (accessories) per product per customer.

Here's a nice summation of what's happened and what's to come!

So last night, I set out to the city to go to Tenjune. Really pretentious, model-laden, bottle popping kinda place. My girl Michelle, goes there "all the time" with her girl Ainjel, so no worries, right?

Wrong!

I get there to find out that Ainjel only has a plus 1 on her promoter's list. And as many times as they've been there, they send me over to talk to the owner to plea for entry. Not my style. So I dip...

All is not lost...here's the 'fit

Deets: really old H&M top (cut into crop), H&M skirt, Aldo Wedges, vintage belt, new highlights!

Working a little backwards...

Earlier that day, I got my hair colored by Mia of Younghsee Salon. I met her at the one of the Sobe Summer Friday parties. She suggested I go with more lighter browns, but I was nervous about that. I got a full head of highlights but my hair is still on the darker side. Next time, full faith in Mia!

BTW: I made my hair curly myself...for deets hit up the comment section and I'll tell you how.

Then today, I wore that H&M shirt that wore to Tenjune. Don't judge me...I barely spent time in it! You might say I'm obsessed with cropped tops now. And that's fine. I am.
I'm dancing at home, practicing poses...

Poses for what??

A fashion show! If you follow my tweets, you know that a couple months ago I was randomly asked on the train to model in a show where my jewelry also earned a set! Don't miss the it next Saturday!

Also next weekend is a huge sale in DUMBO where I'll be vending! I'm super excited!!
Save those dolla, dolla bills ya'll!

A bit ago I featured illustrator, Laura Laine's works for Muse Magazine. I loved how she surrealistically combined actual products with her whimsical characters. See that post here.

Well, she's at it again for H&M! Currently only available in Holland, I'll keep you posted for it's debut in NY and beyond.

I'm on my Carine Roitfield--not wearing jeans of late...
....

"Even though jeans suit me, I never wear jeans."
--Carine Roitfield, NY Magazine, Feb. 28, 2008

Here's what preceded that quote...interesting.

"The American editors are very, how you say, slick," Roitfield says. "Very Perfect. Hair is perfect, they have a manicure. They are very clean, they follow fashion. I don't think they take many risks. They do the total look of Prada. Me, I wear a lot of Japanese piece mixed with a bit of classic Hermes and Prada."

I don't know about all that...My slickness goes as far as my bangs on a good hair day. Otherwise I love the free feel of chipped nail polish and eclectic prints and combos. And to follow fashion literally is to rob yourself of personal style and creativity. No? ;)
