I'll be in Cali soon. I don't know how or why. But I've been nurturing this idea of being out there for a bit now. Not forever. Just for a few months. Or even periodically. I put it out there...cheers to the Universe!

Originally, MK+A brought on legendary jewelry designer, Robert Lee Morris, to help expand Elizabeth & James clothing into an accompanying jewelry line. But for the past three seasons, they’ve taken on the task of designing the jewelry line themselves. They’re the Olsens, why not?

Their newest collection gives us our silver staples, throwing in interesting proportions and geometric flairs. Double rings, open feather stacking rings, pyramid rings…I’m a fan of them all! Especially loving the wishbone bangles and bright colored beaded bracelets to pair with spring finds.

//DEETS: Vintage necklace and cami, Alexander Wang blazer, American Apparel jeans, Aldo shoes//

After missing Danielle's main celebration on Friday,  I had to make it to her Saturday situation and to that of fellow fashion blogger, Kristina of Fashion For Breakfast. My girl Sandrine was my partner in crime (pictured on the left, below). See Danielle of The Elle Files next to me.

It was freezing so I def opted for jeans. Can't wait for jeans shorts or body con skirt moments!

Javana looks different every time I see her. Watching her reinvent herself between a matter of a week is simply so much fun.

Here, she inspires us right back to the medium brim hat. Get one by Pendleton at Opening Ceremony. I would never give mine up but Nelson had me considering.

The closet transition from winter to spring always looks like the shift from black and white tv to high def! Pops of color and light contrasting textures gives a new rush to getting dressed. Much like the shot above: splashes of color, leather and metals combine for an image that is characteristically spring.

Take note of the Spring trend: blue! Cerulean, cyan, turq, navy, sky...it'll all be big for the warmer season. Wear different shades together for a modern monochromatic look.

Gaga, are those painted on horns and a Chinese bang and a sculpted bun and blue leather [Spring trend alert!] and the almondi-est nails ever!?

Oh Gaga...and Nicola [Formichetti] thanks so much for coming back from that Vogue shoot so strongly!

Nelson, spotted in NoHo, NYC looks so gentlemanly at what I doubt is any more than 22 years old! It's never too early to tap into dapper. See the picks he inspires below!

How about freckles, but only when they go with your outfit?

When I was younger, I would draw freckles on my face. My mom's eyeliner spotted across my cheeks looked like I got into it with a brown sharpie. But at Chloe's fall 2011 show, they took on the task and came out triumphant inspiring me to try again...

Maybe with a skilled hand and makeup experience I can master the look. Why would I want to? Because I still secretly (or not so secretly now) wish I had freckles. Ones you can rub off? Even better!

DEETS//
3.1 Phillip Lim Jacket
Current/Elliot Jeans
Marc Jacobs Heels
Proenza Schouler Bag
Bracelets via Net-A-Porter

A mix of edgy and sexy. Skulls and roses. Every bit is intentional--the snake wrapped heel, the infusion of red muted by sharp black studded leather and earthy turquoise and browns in a pile of bangles.

The clamoring of pieces on the wrist and clicking of the heel against the pavement says "I'm so confident, I don't mind making a little noise." What I want to wear now!

The behind the scenes shots of Proenza Schouler's fall 2011 collection seriously wets the palette for an amazing collection. They Lazaro and McCollough woo me as they pin and tuck models in the fit session. Close up shots of the prints bring the vintage quality of the aesthetic to life.  Finally, to see the designers in a cable knit crew and a fitted surrounded by all this amazingness that they've created is brilliant.

A huge fan of Proenza Schouler, I wasn't surprised that designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez produced another innovative and lust-worthy collection! The backbone of the collection--the Native American blanket prints that were literally zoomed in on until pixelated. Highlighted with pops of color as if extracted from points on the prints, the collection is like a mosaic of sorts. The thumbnail gallery does a great job of showing that.

Stay tuned for the behind the scenes post of the collection by Jak & Jil's Tommy Ton.

Kiera, 1/2 of BlynQueens Vintage, is always so refreshing and inspiring in how she puts together her vintage looks. She and another girl I spotted at my boy's bday party on Saturday shows that blazers are still the layering option of choice for this spring.

What's your layering go-to?

It's like a nod to and a gag on the power-dressing woman of the '80s reborn. Contrasting collars, super interest shoulder, fur wraps slung on the waist and even a baseball cap. All elements point to a new professionalism--and it's all about not taking yourself seriously at all!
