Neons are so expected in the Spring and Summer and by the time Fall creeps around you're ready for a darker palette. But Winter Neon?! It makes the most sense, like a quirky addition to your no-nonsense bundle of warmth.

Lucy Jay scarves are like dreams, experiences and time on silk. Each bears a personality of its own, named after the special people in her life. My fave, the Adam scarf [above] is named after her brother, which may attribute to the deep colors and almost army fatigue-like spattering of colors. It's a wonderful contrast of masculine against a delicate fabric. Scarves are usually such an afterthought for brands or simply an extension of a collection. So when asked why the accessory, Lucy tells O.M.O.:
" For my final collection at uni[versity] I did a totally print-based collection and included scarves to create the layering effect. They worked so well and I really enjoyed designing them and wanted to take the idea further...Here I am now!"

The accessory savvy fashionista need not look to match her scarf to her 'fit. The beauty is in throwing it on with anything. //LUCY JAY SITE//

Lim's work is always a barometer for me for what to look for in the coming season [along with other greats like McCartney, Wang and Pilati]. Here, Lim's spring/summer 2011 collection shows us that it's time for interest bottoms again. Perforated leather and sheer polka dot make it's way to your lower half. Take a peek into his Japan showroom below.

I live for a platform and die for a wedge. But this new orthopedic shoe of sorts, I just can't get into. Are you stepping out in the "new" platform this Spring?

Burberry made it the coat of the season and your favorite fast fashion hunts were all over making the lush jacket look like it came from a starved sheep in the Himalayas. The Sherling Moto Jacket.

Staying home a tad bit sick yesterday, found me surfing the net for hours and I bumped into a couple of new sites along the way that I think you should know about:
The Coveted focuses on the closets on fashion industry insiders, editors and the like. //The Coveted//
Into The Gloss gets the scoop on the beauty regimens of fashion, makeup and hair pros. //Into The Gloss//

Chioma's on Garance Dore! Having assisted Chioma for a couple years as a fader contributor, I know her style well. It a mash up of boy and girl, vintage and fast fashion finds with designers thrown in for good [quality] measure.
She's never average, always true and comfortable in her own aesthetic--even here as she pulls off what Garance rightly calls the "Impossible Skirt Length." //photo cred//

There are just a few women of today who's style I admire. Nicole Richie's timeless cali-boho style is one that I truly heart. She's come into her ow with her personal style and that of her line House of Harlow 1960. Venturing into shades now, ad still cranking out amazingness in jewelry and the lot, she's a model of good business-ship.
"The creative process for me is that I'm going to change the world every season."
Jonny Johansson, creative director of Swedish fashion label, Acne describes his aesthetic as a "crash" between unlikes--feminine and masculine, uptown meets downtown. When I first learned about Acne...maybe 3 years ago, I was impressed and even a bit confused by their broad spectrum of influence, venturing into furniture design, editorial and keep everything Sweden-based.
Unlike most who strive to be in Paris, Johansson cherishes being in Sweden as it's true to who he is and the essence of the line. "I just think we do something a bit different, that's why people like it. I don't even want to think about what it is. I might lose it."

"My capsule for Net-A-Porter fits in with the personality of the 'nontraditional bride,' I call it," [Wu] told Stylelist. "I love a very modern attitude with traditional elements. This is my response to what modern girls want."
Wu's new dive into bridal wear is a collection of dress and separates [gasp!], retailing as low as just under $3,000. A legit designer wedding look made possible on a budget? Yes! Feathers, sequins, princess layers of tulle and the like make every piece a hit for the big day!

I could do without the constant whipping of hair back and forth...but the antique-y '70s feeling is what I live for. Very Shaft-Foxy Brown-vintage porn.

Madewell's newest collection gives us a look for everyday of a Spring week. I'll keep clicking my heels for April to be here!

I remember when I first heard of the line, Mike + Chris. I was a fashion intern at Vibe Vixen and they sent a lookbook. I believe we requested some bags which was what they did best at the time [2006, only a year into the line]. But the leather geniuses they are, they've perfected the leather jacket and variations of [like above!].

I can't seem to find the right bowler hat. They're either too small or too stiff and cheap-y looking. But what is this one...velvet? Looks luxx and...just perfect.
I'm not sure if it's her music, her uncanny costume, or perhaps its her schizophrenic personae; but it seems like everyone is all about Onika Miraj. This month, the Harajuku *hyphen* Barbie covers V Magazine where she's Dia De Los Muertos-style body painted and dressed in designer garms from Mark Fast and Versace for an interview/editorial moment.
Fave Nicki quote:
"I don’t look at myself as a female rapper anymore...nothing I’m doing right now is expected if you look at the last five years of female rap.”
Fave quote from the writer, Knox Robinson
"Her occasional missteps are applauded as signs of authenticity, and her only beef of note—a one-sided hate parade courtesy of Lil’ Kim—merely served to underscore the brittle, faded glamour of her antagonist."
...Eloquently put, Knox - check out the teasers below.

It was just a little over a year ago that model Crystal Renn was on the plus-sized spectrum in the One Size Fits All editorial in Vmagazine. See that post //HERE//
So...when did she stop being plus-sized? Of course there are more opportunities for the waif, but she had her [bad] experiences with that look, hence, why she decided to stay true to a body weight that, i can only assume was less pressure to maintain. But when that put her in the spotlight, she sheds the LBS? And let's not forget just last July when Glamour published an editorial of all photoshopped images of her made skinny. There was even before and after proof! See shots //HERE//
All in all, Renn looks amaze and I love any editorial that features Stella but I just needed to share my confusion of how this seemed to happen Out Of The Blue.

Monrose in V Magazine, February 2011 //source//
Martinique-grown Melodie Monrose, discovered just weeks before fall 2011 casting with no previous modeling experience ended her debut season with a total of 49 shows including Prada and Miu Miu [houses notoriously known for its lack of ethnic models].
After a) seeing her beauty photo in February V Magazine and b) seeing her interview on vogue italia - black, I have become totally smitten by her. Check out her interview below with Bethann Hardison.

Pepe makes a comeback?! They've stayed true to the body con demin dresses and the fishnets still sneak in layered under plaid tops and flirty shorts. But I'm putting down for a common line that may make a super revival.

Freja, Raquel and Kristen come together for a gaudy, flamboyant campaign for Louis Vuitton's Spring Collection. It's very Miss Saigon gone wrong and I love!
