Cropped tops are my summer staple and as a result so many shirts have been subject to a slashing--God bless the ones that have been impressive enough to evade the chop!
I only wish that I could cut my sweaters the same! To avoid an unraveling mess, sweaters like the ones below are a great option.

3.1 Phillip Lim is always a fave. An amazing mix of luxe in original but completely digestible ready-to-wear styles. Love the pops of color that seems like highlights in a black and white image. The contrasting sleeves add interest to simpler silhouettes and the layers are so realistic and inspiring. A+ Lim!

I've been a bit resistant to Rihanna's red, but this look is warming me up to it.
p.s. glad to see a soft shoulder! //See my talk with Rihanna about her shoulders HERE//

There are so many shows that I'm fawning over 3.1 Phillip Lim, Rodarte, DVF, Marc Jacobs *insert squeal*and the list goes on. But Ash' and Mary-Kate's, The Row has been on my mind for the last couple of days!
A collab with TOMS shoes=cashmere loafers that will go for under 150 bucks, fox fur city, structured meets relaxed, wonderful tiered lace in the new midi skirt length and dark evening looks...still with loafers. Genius!

The thing about presentations is that you don't get a gift bag! At least in this case, Rochambeau, a new fave made up for it in craftsmanship, originality and execution.

These shots have nothing to do with Fashion week. But I love them. I shot them at this event on Chinese New Year at the Chinatown Brassierie for a line that I'm not really familiar with. In any case, the shots tell a story...read along.

Sooo maaaah-ccchh! So much went on last night. I really think there should be a rule against events that start after 8pm. It really just becomes too much of a hassle to wait around for...which led to traipsing around aimlessly...
So before the Jose Duran show [which by the way was lack-luster, especially compared to his past two shows I've attended and resembled something he whipped up the night before...except for the guy with the sherling cast. Better luck next season Jose, I'll wait for it!]
Like I was saying...Before the Jose Duran show, we popped into TopShop to find Michael Scott a beanie. Fashion Week got the best of him and 30 degree weather caught him in a 65 degree look. *insert chills and shivers here* While at the UK fashion emporium, I ran into Deni from Chic Muse. I've profile her //see!// She's wonderful.
But after the show I stopped into the Black Style Blogger soiree. Super cute! A popping in and out...but I saw some of my faves. Shouts to Jared at LoweFactor!

It's been so long for a "What I Wore" and a top knot alike. How amazing that the two could reconnect!

Abbey Lee in these ManiaMania campaign shots reminds me of all things that Valentine's Day is made of: love, sex, heartbreak and betrayal. Though a look inside my Valanetine's this year is more of the later, I'm not bitter. So go ahead, rejoice over your chocolates and flowers and I'll be reading my favorite verses from For Colored Girls before going out for drinks with my girls. Like this one:
Well
i will not call
i'm not goin to be nice
i will raise my voice
& scream & holler
& break things & race the engine
& tell all yr secrets bout yrself to yr face
& i will list in detail everyone of my wonderful lovers
& their ways
i wil play oliver lake
loud
& i won't be sorry for none of it
i loved you on purpose
i was open on purpose
i still crave vulnerability & close talk
& i'm not even sorry bout you bein sorry
you can carry all the guilt & grime ya wanna
just don't give it to me
i can't use another sorry
next time
you should admit
you're mean/low-down/triflin/&no count straight out
steada being sorry all the time
enjoy bein yrself

After first seeing this cover a week ago, I was super excited for the spread. Now that it's out...not so excited.
Vogue gives us Annie Leibovitz type shots: epic, Victorian-esque. But that's punctuated by shots against a textured green wall that look more like outtakes or test shots. Vogue flopped their moment in the sun to do "edgy."

I'm always in the mood for good blazer or a silk button up. A rolled up pant is my fave and interest-oxfords are wonderful in the Spring!
