If you follow me on Twitter, you were bombarded last Friday with my Forever 21 Times Square opening day tweets and I tried the whole store one, ran into Hello Kitty by the rompers, got a top lifted from right under me by a tourist and dropped my jaw at the free manis!
I actually wear all forever 21 in this shot! Forgive me but at the selection at this location and the same prices, I may turn into a fast fashion whore!

With fashion spanning back to way before you can imagine but just at the reach of your fingers, how could you not love vintage!?
If you think it doesn't work for you, no worries! I don't want you to miss out so, here are a couple tips:
1. Pack light and appropriately. Don't bring a big, hunky bag with you. Instead opt for an across the shoulder bag that allows you to sift through racks among racks effortlessly.
2. Pass up the costumey pieces. You'll never wear them!
3. Stick to colors and patterns that you like. If you find a cool shirt in that vintage burgundy-from- Three's-Company color, your look may come off too vintage for your virgin vintage taste.
4. Focus on what your style is and use vintage as the source for better constructed, one-of-a-kind version!
There you go! Now thrift and vintage shop away!

The Men 2011 Summer Shows in Milan Saw Russo in all lace. The shot of black lace is everywhere, but who knew there was a white version too! I'm not the only one that would get something amazing in both colors!

Is this supposed to be the bathroom?! The home of artist, Madae Sera is truly a work of art of its own. Many of the pieces have been designed by her and are often sold to friends and visitors, so her home changes constantly. This Spanish, Morrocan, gypsy feeling is exactly what I want whispering throughout my own home...

My girls and I made the most of the mostly subpar and/or inappropriate for kids performances at the Ft. Greene Festival by doing our own thing until Common came on. We all slowly met up one be one until we were a lovely gang of six. I snapped shots of friends and fly ones along the way...

Two things that I love to the max, Brooklyn and fashion, are being brought together for a very special day of events. A collabo between the Brooklyn Museum and online shop Etsy for the exhibition, American High Style: Fashioning a National Collection, Day of Fashion is a total MUST DO!

In a perfect world, I would be draped head to toe in Acne on the regs. Acne's Resort 2011 collection is the perfect mix of Downtown cool with the Uptown set's sleekness. This may be a resort line, but I've found my look for fall 2010, self-titled, "The Urban Vagabond." //
See the full Acne Resort 2011 collection here//

On Wednesday night, I ripped and ran the SoHO/L.E.S. streets and came across these two who I thought were familiar...
Hamid [below], I've never met. Moya [above] actually re-introduced herself to me. Turns out, I gave her my card on the street a couple months ago and now she's a regular! [O.M.O. Fam welcomes Moya with "yay's"]
But I haven't gotten to the gag yet, which is I saved both of their street style shots from Rack and Ruin and Street Peeper before I saw them that night! They were so familiar because they were on my desktop! Thanks for being fashionably stimulating and inspiring.

You can always depend on Suno for a collection full of prints done in consciously bold taste and the Resort 2011 collection is no different...well, just a tiny bit different.
Suno designer, Max Osterweis forgoes the Kenyan prints which the line became known. In place of the rare fabrics are custom prints in swirls, zebra and artsy florals. Max keeps us on our toes, don't you love that?!

“‘If I were to ever, God forbid, get hurt onstage and my fans were screaming outside of the hospital, waiting for me to come out, I’d come out as Gaga,’ she says, adding that she models her celebrity on Michael Jackson.” source
Oh, Gaga! She would "come ot as Gaga?" You know what that means don't you? She would come out, gurney and all in Alexander McQueen Armadillo platforms and a full face. If you're gonna be Gaga you gotta go all the way!
I just met with a wonderful designer Krystalrae with whom I talked jewelry, fashion and the grind. She was amazing enough to gift me a pieces of my own choice from her handmade first collection. Stay tuned for the full post but check out the video for a preview!

Come close OMO Writers readers...I have a secret to tell you. ::eyes shifting:: I have a deep unrequited love for Hello Kitty.
::squeals::

DEETS: "Young and the Banging" Tee from eponymous event, Vintage skirt, JC sandals, BCBG bag, Vintage scarf via my mom, street vendor Straw hat
Not exactly those conical Cambodian hats, but close enough. I bought this hat front a street vendor right on 14th and 6th. It's a great alternative to the typical straw hats and with the brim flipped the other way, the look takes on a Mexican flair!

Please excuse me while I diddy bop...

At the Tanqueray event last night, "Te Amo" came on and me and my boy Corey got to talking about Riri's style. The haircut? We both hate but her style left room for discussion.
I opened Corey's eyes to the formula that is Rihanna's style and we came up with a challenge for Ms. "Rated R." Watch the vlog to hear more...Also check out "Te Amo" video below!

As you grow up, your swinsuit game better mature...not necessarily to scantily clad bikinis, but to one that truly expresses your style and taste.
For me it's the We Are Handsome line. All bearing vintage scenes and screaming summertime even by just the image of lion's roaring face, they're everything I need. They even double as bodysuits! Other cut options are strapless zip fronts and bikinis, but the one piece with the very low cut back is classic '80s, '90s silhouette for the graphic retro graphics.

In a recent interview, as in last night, I was asked if Black bloggers seem to be emerging more. And I do actually see an emergence, or at least I am discovering more quality blogs by our black sisters and brothers lately.

One that's recently impressed me is His Hers Chicago. It's a blogging team between photographer, Michael Britton and Creative Director, Lori Cotton who together produce more than What I Wore posts of your average personal style diary blog, they create storied editorials! I've included a few of my faves but you have to see their full stories!
