Remember the photo we loved of Russian Vogue editor, Mira (?)? Here's a details shot of what she wore. I wanted a gold round faced watch. Love hers!

Stylist Elisa Nalin has an excuse for such a vast collection of everything fashion. But I've started to appreciated shoes more. It's definitely an essential part of an outfit that can change the mood of it completely.

Cheers to shoes!

This Ralph Lauren wool coat from Ralph Lauren Fall 08 collection is perfection here. The torquoise earrings are a super compliment to the American Western thing that R.L. does.

Did she know that her hair would go so well with it all?

Apparently I missed this trend...maybe intentionally as I've already detailed my qualms about hair in strange places. But everyone else seems to be fond of it. Is hair really the new fur?

Chloe Sevigny in MissBehave via KnightCat.com

Chloe has eccentric style and now we see that she says random things too! Here's my stab at quirky details about myself:
.
1. I've had a phobia since forever of hair in weird places like on bed sheets, clothes, towels or the tub--eeek! the worst!
.
2. As much as I love being in the city, it takes me at least an hour to get there! But I've learned to love it because I can clear my head on the way...or get insanely annoyed, but let's stay positive.
.
3. I wish I had freckles and used to draw them on with my mom's eyeliner as a kid.
.
4. I love to cook and wish my sister would play along when I try to act like I'm on the Food Network
.
5. I've been drinking at least 2 cups of tea at night to suppress my late night munching! Food tastes better at odd hours, no?
.
What's your random fact?

I remember when Nathan came to the "big city" from Fargo, North Dakota, pursuing a dream to become a model.

Nathan, however, is different than the many that chase this dream because he was in two fashion shows this past NY fashion Week! Sad to say I missed them both. Still so excited for you, Nathan! xoxo, S.

J Adore M on Lookbook.nu takes seasonless dressing to new standards!

Shorts in February? It works so well with his bowtie dress shirt and the blazer for structure. The pork pie hat is the perfect quirky accessory for this look.

Loves it, J Adore!

VIII XXIX is one of my favorite blogs and you may remember a mention of it here from the interview that Ti featured of me. Well, she's asked me to join her team as a weekly contributor to lend some NYC flavor and I couldn't be more excited!

You can see more of my first post here. The shot gets better!

Renae Bluitt of the blog, In Her Shoes, is a PR maven and full of brilliant ideas. One of her latest is her post called "Staying Fly on a Dime."

In this post, fashionistas and entrepreneurs such as Najwa Moses, Latisha Daring and yours truly give their advice for keeping your style up to par despite the economic times.

Couture shows are good for two things: generating press and creating elaborate expressions of RTW trends.
.
Christian Lacroix is a beautiful example of how this is done well. Below are four prominent trends for this spring in the fantasy-like way that only couture could show us.

So fashion week in NYC has come to an end and I didn't come across any fashion crazed pics of Kanye and Friends. But this shot has been floating around the blogosphere like crazy. I guess he's found a new beau, Amber Rose.

And if it lasts til September there'll be fashion shots to look forward to of the two who I think look like twins.

Definitely not one to follow any fashion forecasts, Ms. Sui decked the models out in her signature gypsy tunic styles with elaborate prints.

My favorites are the black numbers at the end of the show.

I joked with my girl, Lashauna, during the show that she made the model's hats and gloves the night before.

They really just looked like cheap winter hats from a Broadway street vendor that she took home and put some Anna Sui magic on, after which they transformed into feathered jeweled Fall "headpieces."

Rebecca Turbow is known for her annual monochromatic dressing whch carried over into her collection for the fall.

But the bold accessories and sophisticated cutting kept things fresh.

Imagine a soldier sneaking off to a mistress' house, then being ran out the back door and back to his combat zone...
.
Duct taped combat boots, long johns as outerwear and heavy industrial cotton outerwear should come to mind.
.
This collection was all post war, victorian, slightly futuristic amazing-ness. It makes me absolutely sure that I'll be bringing constructs in for next fall!

On my way over to the Street Peeper party that I've been twittering like mad about, I ran into Taz Arnold. He just got in to NYC for fashion week.

You know I'm already a fan of his audacious style. So it was great running into him. We chit chatted for a little bit and he said he remembered my first post about Sa-Ra's style!

One of my favorite jewelry designers, Pamela Love joined forces with fashion designer Frank Tell for a collection that was a mash up of intricate femininity and armored bad ass-ness.

Bryant Park has ended it's relationship with NY's Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and the spectacle will move to Lincoln Center in 2010. However, designers have already been making their own move.
.
Private spaces like Milk Studio, where the Spurr presentation was held on Saturday, have been the choice of most designers due to these economic times.

Everything is perfect about this look. It wouldn't have been the same without the beard, the rolled pant cuffs, or the scarf thrown about casually.

Goat's Milk & Chai Candle by Nubian Heritage is the most genius candle ever!

The candle does double duty, setting the mood with candle light as the oil heats at room temp for a hot & steamy Valentine's Day massage!

Shea, Cocoa and Mango Butters as well as Vitamin E moisturizes and protects even sensitive skin while the sweet tea and rose aroma soothes you.

How yummy does that sound? [Hands for the massage not included]

Stockholm, Sweden, Copenhagen, Denmark...that whole region is known for their cutting edge style so it is expected that their designers would also be ahead of the game.

The Bruuns Bazaar, one of my favorites, offered so much to look forward to this year. The video wouldn't download! Ugh. But you can view the show here.

In the BZR [younger, diffusion line] show, we see a relaxed look for men and women. The design duo gives us plunging Halston-like necklines for women and loose fitting suits for men.

The signature line gives us a fall trend report with dramatic trench coats of wider sleeves and lapels for women and the super turtlenecks almost hiding the male models faces!

Henrik Vibskov showed us dizzying prints in stripes and polka dots as well as drapy jumpers in brilliant hues.

Louise Amstrup gave us delicate structure, as opposed to hard which we saw by Gareth Pugh, for this Spring. Her pieces move, demonstrating that dramatic, angular clothing is wearable.

Find a boo just in time for Valentines!
Ladies, bring a single fella with you and have your pickings from all the other guys there. Fellas, you can go solo :)

Guess what I've found...that's right--the perfect shade of red lipstick!

I went into Sephora asking for something in the eponymous line as my perfect fuchsia lipstick is by them. But the makeup consultant led me to Hourglass' Icon at twice the price!

At first I said, "Let's move on." But then I thought, "No, let's give it a try...doesn't cost anything to put it on..." And I love it!

For my skin tone, or any woman from a tan to dark complexion, a lip color with a blue base looks perfect on you. That's what I was looking for and I literally screamed when I put it on!

Icon is the red of all reds--long-lasting, brilliant, creamy...If you get it, you'll love it...and me forever! Kisses :)
