I think I'm a bit late...but I love Kate Hudson in the February issue of Elle.
Joe Zee (whose styling technique I love) styled this shoot and the next one called Bright Lights, Big City.
He infuses all his subjects with this real life style. His editorials are always slightly quirky or glamorous and his signature touches are piles of gold charmy bracelets and bangles and young silouhettes--body con, mini, plunging necklines.

Last night, sick and all, I went like a trooper to the Japanese Fashion Week show.
There were a bunch of Japanese designers all rolled up into one show with 3-5 looks each. The shots of the final walk below capture my favorite looks in the entire show.
Designer Ryunosuke Aoyagi of Ylang Ylang designed all the looks except for the flourescent, geometric body con number, which was designed by Mug of G.VG.V.

Pictured in the first shot is my boy Jey of My Uber Life. Always sharp! Too bad you can't see the part on the side in his hair! I've taken a shot of this guy before at the New Museum. I loved his suit and hair then and I still love his hair! I also want an extra long scarf like that...
I stopped into H&M yesterday to browse the new stuff. These jeans caught my eye and I thought they were different and cute with the off center zipper, light '70s wash and pleating.
But I think I've filled my quota for baggy front pants with my paperbag khakis, so I passed. But I've been feeling like I need a striped top, so I got this stretchy one!
Nina Garcia, Norma Kamali and Calvin Klien all call FIT their alma mater and in about a year and a half I will be able to as well!
After graduating from Boston University in 2007, I applied to FIT for Communication Design. Cancelled that app because I didn't really want a degree in graphic design.
But a few months later (10.08), I decided that now is the time to follow my brewing desire to attend the fashion school.
I'll be majoring in fashion merchandising management, during evenings and weekends...I can still work while I take courses like product development, jewelry design and principles of merchandising (math ugh!). So excited!

@ CapsuleI went to a bunch of trade shows on Tuesday with the Fader fashion team to scope out hot, new shit. I saw great new styles for the upcoming seasons but I was also introduced to Mjolk and Our Legacy 1980-1981 at Capsule [tradeshow]. I even met Victor Glemaud there, whose work I fell in love with last summer.

The spring '09 merchandise is light and airy at first glance. Take a closer look and you'll find tiered and ruffled florals, bubbled hemmed khaki skirts, dramatic silhouettes and a few crazy prints for contrast.
It's in stores now and I can't wait to shop it, but first I have to hit up the 50% off section for a couple things that I loved from fall, but thought was overpriced.

It's mind numbingly cold, but my saying, "It's too cold to be cute," gets thrown out the window again with this sweater trend for the fellas.
