Other ideas:
- make a skirt into a dress--hike it up or belt it to keep it up
- turn the high-waisted American Apparel skirt upside down for an ultra-body con fit
- wear a top over a dress= skirt

do this all the time ! and normally, it works! because lord knows, i don't know how to sew. :)
