Daphne appears in a cape from the 2002 Alexander Mcqueen collection.

A private service for Lee McQueen was held yesterday where famous friends like Daphne Guiness, Naomi Campbell, and Stella McCartney showed up to pay respects. Most head to toe in Alexander McQueen, his family also wore his designs, choosing tartan looks from his A/W 2006 collection. The house will continue and is focusing on the collection set to show on March 9th.

//ABOUT LEE MCQUEEN//
Lee McQueen was named Alexander by Isabella Blow, mentor and friend who bought his entire first collection right out of Central Saint Martins, after Bjork wore one of his early designs on an album cover.

He went on to create his own label after designing for Givenchy for five years. And although his career didn't start til he was 16 years old; his first memory of fashion was drawing a dress on the wall at three. Read about McQueen and the service here.

...And it's super cool. He even puts frames around most of his shots like I tried and failed!

Aren't they purty? But more than that, they're complex and even strange at first glance...the kind of beauty that stays with you.

A sticker lookbook?! Mark is so bizarre he's genius! I love the old school paper doll idea that he and RVCA have collab'ed on. Dress up his beckoning bod with the clothing stickers on the opposite page, then wear the outfit yourself!

Alexander Wang's star line up of 40, arguably the top 40 in the modeling industry, made us love chenille in burgundy. See the collection here.

Hasidic Jewish hats, nubby body-con dresses, those striped maxi dresses with the split like the ones I wore in the 4th grade and the perfect fur jacket.

Where can you find all that? Not in your best thrift shop, even better! Stolen Girlfriends Club, a line that offers the best things of your imaignation and yesteryear without the old folks smell or the trouble of designing what's in your head.

Here are two videos that you MUST see if you haven't already. Friends and I obsessed over the Rude Boy video last Friday with wine and falafels before we went out...random, I know. The Kanye video? Just epic.

I know it's not news anymore that Alexander McQueen has taken his life (or that the manic of the industry or whatever people speculate drove him to it]. But I just found this video of the veiled heiress and muse, Daphne Guiness speaking on her friend Lee McQueen.

Would it be an overstatment to say that this look was styled just for me? And who's doing this jewelry? The look wouldn't be the same without it.

One of my favorite style blogs in the beginnings of my blogging days was Karla's Closet. Still a favorite, I've been lucky to watch her blog mature and progress. Now she has an online store, selling what but the wares she posts wearing!

Everything that I would have wanted has been picked off since the store open last monday. I'm sure she'll be updating the inventory soon and with her prices you better be trigger-happy on the "Buy" button!

Josh and Travis of Street Etiquette collab with a few creatives for their Black History Month tribute, Sewn from the Soul. It honors the great black men of intellect and art who also exemplified style, namely Huey P. Newton, Miles Davis and Cornell West. See the rest of the editorial and the video at Street Etiquette.

Please take the time to listen to what he has to say. He seems like a man who is never satisfied with his work, which in the end will always push him to be better.

Isn't the shot above absolutely stunning?! Both shots are so perfect, strong and peaceful. They just make me feel a way. And I love that.

If you haven't put "Safari" on your list for Fall 2010 wares, you better hop to it. Rust, mudsilks and the like were all over NYFW.

Take a cue from that if this editorial hasn't convinced you of the strength in a little camo green.

Besides City, Fader, i-D, V and a bunch of other books I can't name, you've seen the next face of 2010, model Salieu Jalloh in a shot with moi at the Arise party. Two of my favorite male models for their diversity and edge, Jalloh and Dan. Yay for being the future of the beginning of a new decade!

"It's very difficult trying to read the situation. And all the while you're just really wondering are we gonna get hopped up enough to make some bad decisions? Perhaps play a little game called 'just the tip', just for a second, just to see how it feels. or, 'Ouch, ouch you're on my hair.'"

I always crack up at that monologue from Wedding Crashers and strangely, this shot [above] reminds me of it. Really random, I know. Excuse me.

Little Red Riding Hood and Amelia Earhart: Though two mysterious characters, fictional or not, in the books and bios we read as children, Samantha Pleet cites them as inspiration for her Fall 2010 collection.

She veered off a bit from her usual dandy aesthetic to explore new silhouettes and fabrics. Delving even deeper into this exploration theme, she used that as the premise behind the pieces. It's for the girl on a fearless "expedition and she prepares for her trip in wacky hats, mudsilk parkas with matching paperbag waist shorts" and stomps through foreign territory in patent leather Doc Martens.
