Some pay bills on the first, I make it out to the Brooklyn Museum. And so do peeps from BK and beyond who come out for the "First Saturday" event.
As I was tipping into the Museum , I stumbled into a breakdancing battle at the dance party, which besides the live music, art lectures and films, is the highlight of First Saturdays. DJ Fabian Alsultany and DJ Pepe from Electric Lila had people breaking a sweat. The kids were amazing!
Coincidentally, as our President made a speech last week to the Muslim world, this month's theme was "Illuminating Islam." The work in the Islamic Art exhibit was inspiring. The artifacts were beyond! Here are some works by Sadegh Tirafkan from the project, "The Loss of Our Identity," exploring how long-standing Islamic culture is being pushed off by the Western World.
As if the culture was not enough, you're surrounded by beautiful people with dope style.
You always bump into EVERYONE you know here. Exhibit A: my boy, Chad.
I had to stop Chazeen for her Audrey Hepburn 'fit. I live for chicas in menswear!
