After many planned days since May, I finally made it to the Murakami Exhibit on Saturday (the day before it closed!) I had to be slick and quick to get shots--Brooklyn Museum security is fierce. Enjoy!
A life-sized male anime character (My Lonesome Cowboy, 1995) holds his erect penis proudly, firing "milk" into the air and his female counterpart (Hiropon, 1997) squeezes a comparative amount of milk from breasts larger than her head!
Although the well endowed anime forms are more than any child should see (as kids swarmed the exhibit), there was plenty for everyone to share. Murakami's main character DOB is painted in many forms, but my favorite is DOB with Flowers, 1995.
Also a fan of the idea behind Supernova, 1999--a work that spans 7 panels and alludes to the mushroom clouds formed by the atomic bombs of Hiroshima. But it actually brings to mind hallucinations someone might have if they were actually on 'shrooms.
