It must be true...I tried to deny it even when I realized that Chips Ahoy had shrunk (you have to check them out now!) Or when a can of soda went up to $2 at every hot dog vendor in Manhattan.

But there was no denying it when I saw the Mary-Kate and now the Mariah Carey issues of Elle--they're so thin! What is Hachette Filiapacchi trying to do? Save paper?! I want endless fashion ads and pages of 300+ looks for the fall like promised on the cover.

So here are some of my tips for staying fresh despite these hard economic times:

  • No need to wear your favorite pair of jeans down to shreds. Treat yourself to a new pair for only $12.50 at Forever 21. At a cotton-poly blend, they can afford to be under 20 bucks.

  • It bags are out. Vintage bags are stylish and tote bags are eco-friendly. Either way you'll be in line with the fashion times!
  • Buy versatile shoes. Take a chunky summer sandal to the next season by adding a pair of socks to the mix.

  • Invest in your coif. When your hair is on point, you'll make a potato sack look like couture!

Uhh yeah they need to start saving paper, were going through global warming & as much as I love fashion & all, they need to start posting the magazines online. Or find a better alternative to make magazines besides cutting down trees.
I rather see fashion go first than the world I live in.
Ive been a hippie lately so dont mind =]

To Luxury: Thanks for the comment! But you're right, you do sound very "angry green awareness protestor." I do believe in being more eco friendly. But I'm keeping it light and comical here. Wouldn't have done the post if I didn't believe in change.
To Mr. Style: Thanks so much!

Usually June/July issues are thin for most magazines.
