My current obsession, Music with Mad Style, will take a look at some of my favorite performers musically and stylistically. Here's a first look at Santogold.
Brooklyn's Santogold a.k.a Santi White has exploded on the music scene in a strange way: Various reads ranging from WWD to the The Fader covered Ms. Thing's funky, fresh, fun melodies without addressing entirely her unique fashion sense.
In a Fader interview Santi addresses fashion in the music industry, "I'm an old school artist," she says. "I don't care about looking the part all the time, and in the modern entertainer world it's all about looking the part. In fact, you don't even have to have anything beyond that. If you look the part then you are the part. I just can't be bothered half the time."
