[Deep, deep sigh] Raquel never ceases to amaze me--infusing her athleticism into editorials...I mean...she can't help it, she's ripped. But it gives looks a new twist that is perfect when it's right. Wrong being the Chloe campaign. Although it was a great look for her, it gave a butchy tone...not too good for Chloe, eh?
But I digress. The photogs were genius with this one. [nudity] View the entire editorial here.

Channeling Jean-Michel Basquiat, Ty Akintayo takes to Vogue Hommes International with a mood that's,very much, struggling visionary living life. Styled by the men's styling genius--even on women--Anastasia Barbieri, every look evokes independent artistry with a high fashion slant. See the entire story here.

I know these are just things...but this looks like the perfect place. Refined street style [his] and cutesy high fashion [hers].

Insanity is missing a Chanel campaign shoot in L.E.S. two days ago! I think the first shot is actually right down the block from Happy Ending, a spot I went to all last Spring! A few seasons too early but I can live vicariously through girlfriend over at Nitrolicious. She has super exclusive shots...view them here.

It's been a couple months since NYFW, but this video is brilliant. It looks like today 20, 30 years from now. Enjoy!

I first saw this work by Tracy Emin in Glamour Magazine, of all places, and was immediately struck by it. It conjured up feelings of broken promises of love rather than promises fulfilled.
After having long getting a tattoo that reads "I promise to love you" inspired by her work and that of Tangled Alphabets, I finally looked up Emin's other projects and found other neon creations by the artist boasting balmy and perverse prose.
I read somewhere that Emin says, "Neon makes us happy, that's why you see it all over amusement parks." It's that familiar joy coupled with talks of sex and undying affection that makes her work so dynamic.

Free wine at Rogan every Thursday, started today! My girl Chay and I grabbed a glass then headed down the street to Pat Fields where we browsed for a solid hour and change because you have to in order to find all the hidden treasures.
Beyond the over-use of someone's bedazzler and the random feather dildos is amazing stuff--one being this star-studded [literally...star-shaped studs] vintage denim headband. It has wire in it for super easy styling! Do you love it!?

Let's get deep and say that the first image represents my lack of focus and the second image represents my awakening, realignment and peace. As the focus sharpens so does my mine...basically I catch up on all the shit I have to do.

p.s. These shots are literally of me at the Whitney last week where, if you missed my tweets, I said there was a voguing performance and exhibit. If you missed it...tough cookies! I def gave you a heads up...SEEEE...

I didn't wear my wide brim fedora nearly enough this past Fall, but I'll make up for it this season with beaded jewelry. Right on trend or not, the Navajo look is classic. Doesn't it bring ol' school Ralph Lauren or Lauren Hutton to mind?

Above are a few pages from "The Book of Beads"which I just picked up from a street vendor in Williamsburg this past weekend. Now for the time to make something...

Because I don't remember this...Ok, fine that's not me. But the 'fit and the hair is right out of my closet.

How does she keep making such wonderful jewelry? I hope she never ever runs out of inspiration. Visit Pamela Love jewelry here.

Braids can look young, ethereal if you're lucky. Intertwine them, pin them up or back for a sophisticated look.

A mature Naomi, short hair and all, appears in the April issue of Vogue Russia. It's actually their 25th anniversary, celebrated with an all Naomi issue. She's still so amazing. Amazing enough to get away with murder...or at least throwing a Blackberry.

A MAGAZINE is the best thing since what ever the last "best thing ever!" was. I love the sleek yet audacious design. You don't see audacious? Pages=$$$ A page of color says I have a closet full of Loubis and Chanel 2.55 bags in fashion speak.
So get into it...A MAGAZINE is a biannual publication that invites a guest curator [an international fashion designer, group or house] to develop the content and aesthetic of the issue.
Typically, there's a meeting at the beginning and maybe the end between the designer and the magazine's staff. They brainstorm ideas according to the designer's vision and start on pitches, pulls, etc--all the work of the staff. But this, refreshingly, feels like it's so heavy with influence from the designer. My fave pages are in this post, but check out the entire issue here.

Kinda-not really-but yeah stressed feeling at work today...The feeling of being upset at yourself for not being on your game but also accepting the situation for what it is and saying I'll be amazing next time...But in any case, I felt like Mariacarla Boscono [above] for the most part of the day. Here's to a better day tomorrow!

Can we say fashion/blogger/girl crush? I have that grey sweater...don't think I've ever looked that chic in it. Maybe once...
How cute and stylish is Denni!? She's the 20 year old blogger and creator of ChicMuse, the blog that even Anna Dello Russo knows about! This girl covered Paris Fashion Week, travels around Europe, was featured in numerous Am App ads and of course their new project with Lookbook.nu.
Basically the girl is out and about, spreading around her super duper style. I'll take your hair and those tan suede OTK [over-the-knee] boots (below)...Thanks.
Visit Chic Muse to read and see all about my new fashion/blogger/girl crush...
