Magazines always try to make a statement. All black issue...blackfaced models...now plus-size as if it's mainstream? Not quite as V magazine presents question over the acceptance of plus-sized models rather than inserting it as the norm.
Crystal Renn, the plus size model in this story, is actually a great model. Here though, she pales in comparison, seeming almost amateur next to standard zero-ish-sized, Jacquelyn Jablonski. The idea was a good one. The execution, not so great.

i think your being a tad bit harsh i think its more about seeing a plus sized model in cool high fashion editorial rather than making some fake statement.

im actualy saying that they failed to carry their statement through as I believe they intended.
I think an editorial with a plus sized model as a fashion STORY would have been "cool high fashion editorial"
the exact outfits of both models, one skinny (norm) one "plus-sized" forces the reader to compare. making it a statement of...something. no?
umm. as a statement it doesnt work but it's always good to see healthy girls in a magazine and I think the bigger one looks better the skinny girl just looks...sick.

I actually loved this editorial I thought Crystal looked way better than Jacquelyn in all the shots
and like angela said above the clothes on Jacquelyn don't look flattering because she's so small.
